Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro review

Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro Wireless Headphones

I know you can't judge a book by its cover, but first impressions matter. Especially when it comes to TWS wireless earbuds. The first thing I always look at is the charging case, and luckily the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro makes a good first impression. But it has a rather odd shape about the size of two AirPods cases, but you won't notice the case when you open it. During this review of the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro, I noticed that the case is made of soft plastic that looks like a fingerprint magnet. But this is far from the case!

Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro USB-C

The earbuds themselves are held in place by a magnet. This is a great advantage, since, for example, in the dark it is not so easy to get into the connector the first time. You can simply drop the earpiece near its place in the case and it will simply snap into place. When reviewing the Anker Soundcore, the Liberty 2 Pro held up perfectly in my ears, whether I was walking or just sitting at the computer. And by the way, you will definitely need to take the time to find out which ear pads are right for you. This will have a huge impact on the sound of the music.

Headphones Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro

If you're a sports fan, you'll be glad to know that the Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro wireless earbuds can be taken to the gym. The gadget has received an IPX4 water resistance rating, meaning they are sweat-resistant, but not completely waterproof.

The Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro has a custom balanced armature and an 11mm driver - this suggests one is nested in the middle of the other. This engineering solution allowed Anker to save space in the liner body.

Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro in the ears

However, they remain quite bulky in the ears, although not the same as, for example, the Bose Soundsport Free. While the inner part of the earbuds fits well in the ear, the outer part, which houses all the technical elements, protrudes from the side and is very visible. The control buttons are located at the top of each earbud and are pleasant to the touch.

To be honest, during my review, I was really impressed with the overall build quality.TWS Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro are made mostly of plastic, but the headset doesn't look cheap and the sliding charging case cover is my favorite design in wireless headphones.

Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro case

If you've been looking for stylish wireless headphones, the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro is clearly not the case. The gadget is not like AirPods, but more like the minimalistic Sony WF-1000XM3 or XB-700 Extra Bass... The headset is suitable for any purpose: for the gym, walks, trips and travels. So, in terms of versatility, everyone's needs will be met!

Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro: who will like it?

  • The headphones will definitely appeal to those who appreciate high-quality sound and want to customize it for themselves. While the list of EQ settings is small, there are several options for creating a great TWS Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro sound. And you can save your personal settings and use them if necessary.
  • If you are on a tight budget. The $ 150 price tag isn't all that cheap, but significantly lower than the AirPods Pro or Sony WF-1000XM3 that dominate the wireless headphone market right now.

Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro: how to connect?

When reviewing the Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro, there were no problems with connection - everything is very simple!

  1. Place the earbuds in the charging case and close the lid to disconnect the headphones.
  2. Then open the cover, but do not remove the earbuds. There should be a white blinking LED which means you can connect to the headphones in the Bluetooth settings on your phone.
  3. Once paired with the right earbud, it will pair with the left earbud, and then you can remove the Liberty 2 Pro from the case and use.

From now on, Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro will automatically connect to your smartphone or computer as soon as you take them out of the case, which is very convenient. For automatic shutdown, simply return the headphones back to the case. Although I have had a few instances where the earbuds still produced sound while in the case.

You can also easily connect multiple devices to the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro.

  1. First you need to put both earbuds in the charging case and close the cover.
  2. After the headphones turn off, open the cover, but do not remove the headset.
  3. Hold down the button on the back of the case next to USB-C until the LED on the right earbud starts flashing white quickly. This means the earbuds are in pairing mode.
  4. It is now easy to find the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro in the Bluetooth settings of the second device and connect as usual.

I had no problem using them on both my computer and my iPhone 11 Pro. I will only note that switching between them was not easy and you had to go to the Bluetooth settings on both devices.

Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro functionality

The Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro wireless headphones can be adjusted directly in the settings. Let's take a look at all the specs and Bluetooth 5.0 connection. In addition, the gadget also has AAC and aptX, so when watching videos on your phone or tablet, you shouldn't have any audio sync issues.

Soundcore app

To customize the control of the Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro for yourself, you will have to use the Soundcore application on your phone. The app is available for both Android and iOS and also offers an EQ setting, but I recommend just using the HearID feature built into the app. This will allow you to take a short hearing test and then adjust the sound profile to suit your listening experience.

Before using the Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro headphones, make sure the latest headphone firmware is installed.Download the Soundcore app to use HearID, customize the UI and EQ, and update the firmware.

  • HearID: detects the sensitivity of your hearing in different frequency bands and analyzes the results. The function adjusts the equalizer and creates a personalized sound profile for you.
  • Customize the user interface: In stereo mode, all controls can be customized in the app, while in mono mode, the controls are fixed.
  • Equalizer Settings: There are over 20 Equalizer settings in the app to make sure you get the most out of different styles of music.

Battery life Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro

The company claims that the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro will give you 8 hours of continuous use on a single charge, and the case will allow you to charge the device 3 more times. In our review, the gadget lasted 8 hours and 35 minutes, which is an amazing result, albeit not the best among the True Wireless.

Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro wireless charger

The case also features wireless charging, so you can place it on any wireless Qi pad and charge it 100%.

Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro: microphone quality

Yes, the gadget got a microphone, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. Although the device has a decent microphone, I would not advise anyone to use it for business meetings or conference calls, as the quality will ruin the whole event. While they have 4 noise-canceling microphones, the frequency drops at 250Hz quite often. In practice, this means that the deeper frequencies of your voice will not be loud enough, which means that speech will be illegible. This will make your voice sound a little strange to the person on the other end of the line.

Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro sound?

Anker set out to make the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro earbuds the best wireless gadget ever. In my opinion, they did not manage to realize this completely, but I am sure that most people will not have any complaints about the sound. They have a very pleasant sound, which means that lower frequencies stand out more than mids or highs. Bass will sound louder than other parts of the frequency range.

Insulation Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro

This can be heard throughout Linkin Park's song Numb, where the bass line is incredibly effective from the very beginning of the song. Throughout the track, you may hear a slight drop in vocals' volume as the bass becomes especially open. In my opinion, this is not a problem and personally I even like it.

Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro sound

For example, the song Tremors by SOHN also contains a lot of bass, but I have noticed that the thin bass is generally perfect throughout the song. And the vocals sounded just as great, even after the heavy synths kicked in at about 45 seconds.

The highs were also decent considering the Liberty 2 Pro are TWS headphones. But this is where you can see how the unique driver structure bends a little. The shakers and hi-hats sounded clear throughout the song without harshness.

Results of the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro review?

I definitely recommend the headphones to buy if you only need TWS. Sweat resistance, sound quality and ease of use make them an excellent choice, even though they are a bit large (very subjective). The charging case is comfortable to use, and while it's a little bigger than I would like, the sliding mechanism makes it one of my favorites to date. The connection is stable with no minimal gaps or stuttering. And the $ 140 price tag makes them competitive.

Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro TWS

There are options that are cheaper, they don't sound as good as the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro. Basically, if you want a pair of true wireless earbuds for everyday listening, they are definitely worth considering for a purchase. The Liberty 2 Pro definitely impressed me.
