JBL Tune 750BTNC review

JBL Tune 750BTNC review: wireless Bluetooth headphones

Today we will JBL Tune 750BTNC review ($ 80) - a long-awaited test of high-quality wireless Bluetooth headphones from a popular brand at an excellent price of 5500 rubles.

The JBL Tune 750BTNC headphones sound great, look good and fit in with any style. They are reliable and easy to use. Of course, there is no waterproofing (moisture protection) and some other chips, but with such excellent quality and cost, this is a worthy option.

Advantages and disadvantages

Benefits

  • Convenient design... The headphones do not look pretentious and defiant, and simplicity gives them their own peculiarity and style.
  • Good sound quality... This is exactly what JBL users love so much, the Tune 750BTNC has not broken the tradition of great sound. You will be pleasantly surprised!
  • Strong active noise cancellation... ANC functions at a reasonably good level, allowing you to instantly isolate from all extraneous noise that may interfere with your music enjoyment.

disadvantages

  • No moisture protection... This is a significant disadvantage that limits work with headphones in an extreme environment. However, I am sure that when playing sports, sweat drops will not be terrible for the Tune 750BTNC.
  • Average battery life... The battery life could be longer, in this regard, the headphones are much inferior to their closest competitors. Have Bowers & Wilkins PX7for example, the battery can last for 30 hours! During the JBL Tune 750BTNC review, the headphones only lasted 15 hours.
  • No Bluetooth 5 support... Alas, the headphones did not receive support for Bluetooth 5.0 or 5.1. The manufacturer decided to leave version 4.2, which is clearly inferior in terms of the range of connection to a smartphone.

JBL Tune 750BTNC at a glance

JBL is the most famous brand in the world of wireless Bluetooth headphones, and rightfully so. Regular users already know that the main advantage of gadgets is excellent sound quality for a nice price.

JBL Tune 750BTNC review

This is what distinguished the JBL Live 650BTNC, released last year, and now they are being replaced by the new JBL Tune 750BTNC. This is a decent, high-end and budget model that definitely needs attention.

During the review of the JBL Tune 750BTNC, the headphones were used in a variety of circumstances: training, games, commuting and work. The comfortable fit and excellent sound quality were striking - they made the gadget one of the best in its segment, especially for such a low cost.

Price and availability

The JBL Tune 750BTNC has a retail price of $ 95. At the time of writing, 750BTNC is selling for $ 80 in all major online retailers, so you can likely find an even better deal for these already budget noise canceling headphones.

JBL Tune 750BTNC Headphone Design

JBL Tune 750BTNC design

The new model is available in four different colors:

  • the black
  • blue
  • red
  • white

JBL Tune 750BTNC color

All color schemes look quite stylish, and in the white version, the Tune 750BTNC looks chic and similar to the design of Apple headphones.

JBL Tune 750BTNC design

The JBL Tune 750BTNC design doesn't look cheap compared to Apple's Beats headphones. When you take the headphones in your hands, you will immediately feel how high-quality plastic is - it is solid and safe, it will be quite difficult to break. And while many plastic headphones are cheap and fragile, the JBL Tune 750BTNC fits comfortably on your ears. The plastic is smooth and looks more expensive in design than the headphones actually cost.

The only downside to the JBL Tune 750BTNC's looks are the hinges, which didn't perform well when we twisted the ear cups and folded the earbuds for storage.

JBL Tune 750BTNC connector

The hinges look cheap, although they seem stable enough. We add that the headphones did not come with a case or carrying bag, so you need to take care of this in order to safely store them if you leave on a trip.

The JBL Tune 750BTNC gadget is well balanced, the weight is distributed conveniently. At the same time, it cannot be said that they are light, but you will not feel any pressure on your head. And the comfortable fabric ear cushions ensure that your ears won't be pressed or sweaty during extended listening sessions.

Moisture protection

This is another drawback. There is no IP, IPX, or IPXY moisture protection you need, or any other proof that the JBL Tune 750BTNC headphones are rain or splash resistant.

Waterproof JBL Tune 750BTNC

But we don't think it's worth worrying about. If random raindrops fall on your gadget, nothing will happen to them, but they are still intended for use in more "room" conditions.

Is the JBL Tune 750BTNC suitable for daily commuting or sports? 100% yes! But for running outdoors in the pouring rain, it's better to choose other waterproof headphones.

JBL Tune 750BTNC design and control

All the necessary controls and connectors are on the right earpiece: a microUSB charging port at the top of the earphone (opens when you fold the earbuds) and a 3.5mm audio jack, which is a huge plus because you can use the earphones in wired mode when the battery is low.

JBL Tune 750BTNC corded

As you already understood, the JBL Tune 750BTNC does not have USB-C support, but despite this, it charges quite quickly.

There are control buttons under the right earpiece:

  • power button, which is also needed for Bluetooth connection;
  • button to disable / enable the active noise canceling function;
  • volume control;
  • to call Google Assistant or Siri.

JBL Tune 750BTNC Control

The buttons may seem old-fashioned and unstable, unlike the competition's touch-based housings. However, the usual buttons on the Tune 750BTNC do their job well, do not sink and are ergonomically designed. Do you need more?

Battery life

JBL Tune 750BTNC does not support Bluetooth 5.0, the manufacturers limited themselves to the Bluetooth 4.2 standard. At first glance, there is not much of a problem here, however, unlike headphones with Bluetooth 5 support, the 750BTNC has a shorter distance for connecting to a smartphone and keeps the charge somewhat weaker.

The JBL Tune 750BTNC has a battery life of 15 hours, but this time can be increased to 22 hours if active noise cancellation (ANC) is disabled - it is enabled by default.

The indicator is not bad, but for wireless headphones this is far from the best result. There are many headphones with a battery life of over 30 hours. And this is with activated noise reduction!

JBL Tune 750BTNC USB port

The JBL Tune 750BTNC battery takes 2 hours to charge 100%. Such a long charge is due to the fact that there is no USB-C support (the headphones received only microUSB). Because of all these nuances, the price for the brand's new gadget is so low.

JBL Tune 750BTNC Noise Canceling

I will say right away that the JBL Tune 750BTNC's active noise cancellation function is quite good. The gadget blocks out a lot of external noise, which makes it stand out from other budget full-size headphones.

JBL Tune 750BTNC Noise Canceling

The presence of active noise cancellation means that you will not hear anything but your favorite tracks.

It cannot be configured through the app or controls - again, this is a sacrifice for the lower cost. However, this is not so important! After all, the main task of ANC is noise suppression, with which the JBL Tune 750BTNC copes perfectly and does not let in absolutely any external sound.

Tune 750BTNC Connection

These wireless Bluetooth headphones offer multi-port connectivity. Simply put, you can connect to two devices at the same time and switch between them at any time. It is also possible to make hands-free calls with a microphone of excellent quality, especially since there is a call button for the voice assistant Google Assistant or Siri.

JBL Tune 750BTNC Connection

application

Another downside is that there is no app support for the Tune 750BTNC. Because of this, there is no way to adjust headphones, equalizer, and more. This is a big oversight on the part of the company. JBL did not even indicate that the gadget does not support the My JBL Headphone application - there is a possibility that software support will appear soon, but until then you will have to "live" without the application.

Sound quality

JBL Tune 750BTNC sound loud and very high quality. I tested the sound on the Linkin Park tracks. These headphones showed themselves well: you literally pour into the songs, and the bass is matched perfectly and the whole scene in the music is heard.

JBL Tune 750BTNC Sound

Yes, and any other tracks are pleasant to listen to, the music sounds smooth and clean, regardless of style. Even the high frequencies in the song "I will always love you" are well processed and sound delicious without any harshness.

Alas, the JBL Tune 750BTNC is missing one key detail that more expensive headphones love to boast of. There is no support for aptX Low Latency which does not allow for breaks between video and audio.

JBL Tune 750BTNC sound

Instead, the gadget uses the standard SBC codec, which audio geeks and those who want to use headphones for games and movies will not like - the company should have taken care of this. And this is not counting the fact that there is no application support, which means you will not be able to play with the equalizer settings. Nevertheless, the JBL Tune 750BTNC can be safely called a versatile sound headphone that will definitely suit most listeners who do not bother with sound tuning.

Review results

In the conclusion of the JBL Tune 750BTNC review, we can say that the gadget is as good in sound quality and noise reduction as their competitors with more expensive price tags. But when it comes to battery life, app support and the lack of adaptive noise cancellation, the difference with similar models from other brands becomes apparent.

JBL Tune 750BTNC review

Despite these shortcomings, the JBL Tune 750BTNC is a great all-rounder. The gadget sounds good, comfortable, suppresses extraneous noise well. Even if they do not have adaptive noise cancellation, as, for example, in the Sony WH-1000XM3.

What can I say, if most other wireless Bluetooth headphones will cost 2 times more than the Tune 750BTNC and still have the same functionality. In this case, the choice is obvious.

Should you buy? Based on the results of the JBL Tune 750BTNC headphone review, I declare that this is an excellent gadget with good sound and overall design quality at an excellent price. They will definitely not disappoint you, so you can safely buy!
